NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary of the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six of the NFL season , after recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable during those contests was the number of penalties each conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves after leading 17-3 entering the final quarter against Denver, who play in London this weekend.

However it proved positive to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to overcome that deficit before direct three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, to win the game 21-17.

Denver have the defensive player of the year with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They did not always sending extra pass rushers instead they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap before drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, it was noted on a program how Denver could be this season's dark horses. They ended last season well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has excelled significantly while new RB their rusher is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive that head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows that the Broncos are a team that wants to run first, since one can do a lot off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush and maintains in positive situations.

This has benefited QB the young passer, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to throw all over, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional arm talent, a unique trait, plus he's highly agile.

His assets include his movement, being able to throw while moving, and using different arm angles to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to deliver that layered pass over the middle or past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great composure in the pocket and isn't bothered by the blitz. He tries to evade a sack as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.

If you consistently run the ball it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to be on the field extended periods, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defence must defend the area downfield side to side. This proves exhausting.

Nix has bitten back at Payton during games at times and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's fun for him to coach a rookie QB who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly build something up the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix aids shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to face an elite team at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're working better than most, which is a solid position to hold the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at embracing their strength, that is the ground game, and that's exactly what they should do against the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad yet to win a game.

Since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that the head coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges on which form Kansas City shows up they face since Denver {beat|def
