The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with using the full worth of seized Russia's holdings to bolster Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this unified step would escalate tension on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They further noted that the initiative would be carried out in strong partnership with the US.

UK sanctions have immobilized over £25bn of Russian funds since Russia initiated its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. But, until now, resources sent to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had only been sourced from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their aim to push forward toward using the full value of the seized Russian sovereign assets to end the war.

He stated that additional sanctions soon would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This declaration is subsequent to European representatives met in the Danish capital recently to debate utilizing seized Russia's assets for a €140bn financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to seize or utilize seized Russian funds, based on reports.

The worth of seized Russian funds in the EU is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Leader Zelensky calls on UK's Sir Keir Starmer to take part in the Purl program

Moscow launched extensive missile and drone strikes all over Ukraine on recently, causing power cuts in significant regions of Kyiv, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

Two people were killed and no fewer than 20 people were wounded in the assault, the Ukrainian government reported.

In a post on an online platform subsequent to the attack, Zelensky wrote that the cynical and calculated attack targeted public and utility structures.

"What is required is not empty words but firm measures - from the United States, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in delivering anti-aircraft weapons and enforcing restrictions," he emphasized.

"Each restrictive measure undermines Russia's war machine," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky informed the press he would press Sir Keir to enter the PURL programme, under which alliance members buy weapons from the US to provide to Ukraine.

While commending the UK's consistent assistance for Ukraine, he remarked it should indicate firmly that it would participate in the program, as well as enforce more restrictions on Russia.
