🔗 Share this article Toy Story 5 Teaser Pits Woody and Buzz Versus a Tablet Computer It has been 30 years since the first Toy Story movie debuted, launching the animation giant as a major film company and bringing audiences to iconic characters like Woody (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now household names. Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, offering a glimpse into the storyline but leaving viewers wondering how it will resolve the ending of Toy Story 4. Bonnie's New Toy: A Digital Device Spooks the Gang The preview shows Bonnie — who received the toy collection when he grew up — receiving a latest plaything, one that alarms the familiar toy group. She acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it. Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like the rest of her playthings. However, the toys appear to consider it as a threat coming to replace them, which it likely will. The Cowboy's Comeback: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4 One thing the teaser avoids is what Woody is returned with his friends in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (Annie Potts), journeying with a carnival and helping prize toys locate loving owners. Certainly, Pixar will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, however. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with him. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)? Connections from the Previous Film At the very least, some elements are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), leaving her in charge of the toy domain. In the teaser displays the badge pinned to her shirt. Hopefully she is still the key figure among the toys. Toy Story 5 debuts on the scheduled date.
