The midfielder Crosses from corners and free-kicks created chances. Was given freedom to roam in left midfield only to be in an offside position as the pass came in shooting positions. Awarded a merited substitution on the hour mark. 6

The star midfielder Operated in a high position down the right while also did plenty of the hard yards. Displayed glimpses of brilliance and mishit a shot over. Substituted late on by Rogers, his rival, after receiving a caution. 7/10

The winger Was presented with England’s best chance in the opening period, his effort excellently kept out from the opposing goalkeeper. As a teammate hanging back, he was forced to stretch the play out wide yet his deliveries from wide areas varied in quality. Taken off with 15 to go. Six

The captain The match-winner with his 77th and 78th strikes in an England shirt. The opener a classic poacher’s finish while the second a classy finish with his head following a clever run away from the opposition. Aged 32, he continues to improve and the side stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament when he's in the team. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to make an impact from the left. Had a good opening when set up by the midfielder yet the keeper made the save. Rashford had a greater effect when substituted. Five
