The Liverpool head coach admitted that it was natural for concerns to be raised about his future following a further convincing loss versus PSV Eindhoven.

The Reds suffered their ninth loss in twelve matches, representing the club's worst run after being demoted in the 1953-54 season.

They were taken apart by the Dutch league title holders on a difficult night at Anfield.

“I'm confident, I am OK, I've received a lot of support from the top,” the coach stated.

“It would be nice to change things and secure a win of course but when you're coaching a team and struggling then it's typical that questions are asked.”

He continued, “I'm comfortable with my situation. It is not the initial instance I’ve been in a tough spot but it's crucial that we changed our fortunes.”

Conversations with Club Management

When asked to provide details on his dialogues with the Liverpool hierarchy, Slot said:

“There's regular dialogue. They are helpful to the team and to me and we have those conversations but they aren't calling me constantly of the day to say they trust me.”

He mentioned, “During our regular conversations we have I perceive the confidence. However I haven’t spoken to them since this defeat so far so let’s see.”

Recurring Problems and Squad Response

The manager lamented recurring weaknesses from his Liverpool side in their Champions League defeat, specifically wasted chances and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was more forthright in his assessment of the team's situation.

“I haven't got the answers. Honestly, I don’t. I'm telling that to everybody,” Jones remarked.

“It's simply unacceptable. I don't have to wait to think about it. I'm beyond getting mad inside. I’m at the point currently where I just don’t have the vocabulary.”

He added, “It's tough because I’m playing for the side I follow. I'm a supporter, and I've watched Liverpool since I was young.”

“For many years, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team going through a phase like this with performances like these.”

He stated, “But we still have the crest on our shirts. And as long as it is removed, we will always battle.”

“We’re going to try to get this team back to where it needs to be, demonstrate to all again the values of this club and why people call it the best team in the planet.”

“At this moment, things are bad and we have to turn it around.”
